Did you know I had this almost all typed and then accidently hit command Q? Which, on a mac, is the keyboard command to Quit an application?? Ugh!

So, I know that everyone else had their DYKs done a while ago but I just got this blasted blog up and going and I still want to post them so here goes:

Did you know...

I have moved six times in the last eight years. Since we do not have a house, there is at *least* one more move looming in our near future. On the bright side, each move has brought us closer to the West Michigan shoreline and we are now a measly 30 minutes from the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan.

I learned to play pool last night and while trying to be a smartass and prove a point to someone, I backed into a chair and landed directly on my ass on the floor. My co-workers were so amused they literally fell on the floor from laughing themselves and my husband gave me that look that said "I married you why?" before helping me up.

My husband and I are both in tech support but he is considerably more geeky than I.

I *also* have a sweet husband but generally call him by his nickname, spine, which I gave him almost ten years ago when we first met, because his goatee is so spiny feeling. His *real* name, I believe, is Shawn. :-)

My bowling average is an 87 and so far I have managed to *not* be kicked off of two leagues.

I am a diehard fan of Apple products and have been a loyal user since the IIe. I am now typing on a new iBook but carry lust in my heart for the new titanium G4 laptops.

I have been on the internet since before the WWW and remember when irc or a BBS was the only way to chat. Thank God for IM.

I am addicated to Coke (the cola) and there are more Coke cans littering my house right now than I can count.

I truly believe there are more important things in life than housekeeping and you can tell if you ever stop over unannounced! :-)

My two best friends at work are Mike, 22 and Russ, 19. I am 28 and love them because they make me forget it and remind me of how fun life (and work) can and should be when you are around people you love.

I am a real sap and if you ever want some amusement, watch The Color Purple with me. It is one of my favorite movies of all time and there are about 8 times during the course of the movie when I cry even though I have seen it over and over.

I have many many collections, some of which include: cookbooks, Pooh, antique typesetting blocks, trinket boxes, antique linens, Trixies (duh) and bee related items. My favorite way to spend a Sunday is trolling flea markets and antique stores with my cousin.

I recently witnessed my cousin give birth to her third daughter, Madison Annette. Seeing a live birth was incredible and intense but in no way changed my unwavering intention to never, ever have children.

I grew up with a lake in my backyard and never learned to water ski despite numerous attempts by almost everyone I knew to teach me.

I love my job so much it is almost ridiculous.

I have never finished college, having dropped out after four years of seemingly endless composition and literature classes. I probably never will.

The last five books I read were: Naked and Me Talk Pretty Some Day by David Sedaris, Into the WIld, by John Krakauer, Buddy Babylon: The Autobiography of Buddy Cole (remember Buddy from KITH?) and The Blind Assasin by Margaret Atwood. I just started Geeks by Jon Katz.

I have three cats who my friends call my "kits": Basil, Pixel and "The Cheese". They are grey and black tigers who all look so much alike that a friend once asked if I had had the same cat cloned in three different sizes.

I want to learn to fly a plane.

When I was growing up I wanted to be an archaeologist or a journalist.

Oh, and I will tell almost anyone almost anything about myself if they only ask. :-)

Just testing to see if I can post now. Thanks to Deb for all her help. She is a wonder!

"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should..." is what my husband told me when I filled him in on the whole Blog thing. You see we've been at this internet thing a good long while now and tend to be a bit... jaded. But I figure it's got to be less degrading than irc. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.
